Brief Description:  Left rocker arm assembly

Removed the left cylinder studs to trim them for the rocker shaft clearance. I had trimmed the two studs by the intake manifold previously, but without the cylinder shims installed. The studs are just long enough to get full thread on the nuts. Would be better to wait to cut the studs until this stage when all the shims are in place. Also should have skipped applying Locktite to the cylinder stubs since they needed to be removed for trimming.

I had about 10mm of stud exposed on the remaining 6 studs. The 3 lower aft ones interfered with the rocker arm assembly. I trimmed 5-6mm off all 6 studs. There are now about 4 threads exposed above the nuts and there is no rocker arm interference.

One of the head studs for the rocker shaft was apparently mushroomed a bit during installation. Had to file/fit/file/fit the stud until I could the shaft to go over it. Still a tight fit but at least I can get the shaft on/off with some persuasion.

The rocker assembly arrived with the rockers facing the wrong way with ref to the notch on the rocker blocks, which should face down. Swapped things around, and adjusted shaft shims for a best offset fit of the rockers to the valve stems. I needed two shims under the rocker blocks for a best fit of the rocker arms being centered vertically on the valve stems.

My rocker arms have the swivel balls with a flat ground on them. One of the balls does not move. Soaking it overnight in oil to see if it loosens up enough to be useable.
